Here is the wee one of our herd, only about 7 hours old. Her name is Bess. At this point we had to draw the line with the B names. Bess, Bonnie, Belle! Arghhh! It's bad enough when you run through your family's names, but then add in the horses and it becomes a real pain in the behind.
Guarding Bess is the mama of our group, Dixie. She is an 8 year old mare with the smoothest gait this side of anywhere.
Don't ask me how two brown horses came up with a creme filly, but somehow these two did! Bess, now about 13 months old, darkened up a little - she is now the color of cafe au latte, heavy on the au latte.
She's a munchkin!!! I've actually
never seen one that small. 7 hours old?!
wow... so cute. Dixie is gorgeous too. I love
her coat. Gah...makes me *really* wish I
had a farm now. I love horses and baby cows, lol.
I can believe it. Even in farming country there are people who don't raise things from birth, so they never have a chance to see something like that. Or like my sister - really really didn't want to.

We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

Bess was probably our smallest newborn. I missed Bonnie by 12 hours because I was still at work. Belle we got to see in all her slimy newborn glory.
The old man who lives across the road has cows. No wee ones now, but I'll try to remember to take some stills when they drop.
