Here is the wee one of our herd, only about 7 hours old. Her name is Bess. At this point we had to draw the line with the B names. Bess, Bonnie, Belle! Arghhh! It's bad enough when you run through your family's names, but then add in the horses and it becomes a real pain in the behind.

Guarding Bess is the mama of our group, Dixie. She is an 8 year old mare with the smoothest gait this side of anywhere.

Don't ask me how two brown horses came up with a creme filly, but somehow these two did! Bess, now about 13 months old, darkened up a little - she is now the color of cafe au latte, heavy on the au latte.

wow... so cute. Dixie is gorgeous too. I love
her coat. Gah...makes me *really* wish I
had a farm now. I love horses and baby cows, lol.

Bess was probably our smallest newborn. I missed Bonnie by 12 hours because I was still at work. Belle we got to see in all her slimy newborn glory. :yum:

The old man who lives across the road has cows. No wee ones now, but I'll try to remember to take some stills when they drop.

I can believe it. Even in farming country there are people who don't raise things from birth, so they never have a chance to see something like that. Or like my sister - really really didn't want to. :wtf:

I'd freak off the birthing part -and that goes for any animal (or human).
Not that it isn't wonderful, but all the gunk.. yipes!

But new life is wonderful so I think I can endure :P
